Rain

I need the rain to come and wash away the blood,
I don’t want you to see.
It’s flowing in a flood,
Now that I set it free.
I’m caked as if it’s mud,
But it doesn’t belong to me.

I’m sitting here alone,
Looking up at the cloudless sky.
Without the rain how can I hide?
Exposed like this I cannot lie.
Is it possible to pretend they just died?

The warm dry wind blows teasingly.
